Home and Community Care for the Elderly and Frail
We deliver a range of flexible and responsive aged services to the Russian community such as:
- Friendly visiting for the isolated, aged or frail
- Telelink scheme to facilitate linking people together by telephone to discuss issues of common interest and concern
- Planned Activity Groups
- Pensioners Clubs
- Interpreter Services
Telelink
Telelink provides a way for people who find it difficult to go out, to still belong to a group who can talk together, take part in friendship, learning and gain necessary information to maintain independence from the comfort of their own homes.
- Telelink allows up to ten people in different places to join a group discussion from their telephones.
- There is no charge.
- You do not need special equipment to join in.
- If you have trouble hearing or holding a phone, Telstra will provide special equipment at no cost.
- Once you have booked in you will be connected, to a group of people who can all hear and speak with each other on their telephones for 45 minutes per session.
Russian Telelink Program operates on Thursdays at 11 am and 12 pm.

Planned Activity Groups (PAG)
PAG provides its services for older adults and people who live with disabilities. Led by caring support staff, we offer activities that enable participants to maintain and enhance their living and social skills. Access to our transport service assists participants to and from the program.
Our program ensures individual consultation with participants to provide safe, engaging and meaningful activities, whilst also providing respite to their carers. .

Social Support
An exciting range of social services and opportunities are available for those who are 55 years and over and those who live with a disability.
Our newsletter highlights the range of activities available to RERC clients. These include a wide range of indoor & healthy living programs, day trips, arts and cultural opportunities and other outings.
We also host Special Events such as the Seniors Festival, International Day of Older People, Conferences, The Day of Russian Culture, Vladimir’s Ball and many more.

Interpreter Services
Russian Council has allocated resources to access interpreters via other agencies.
If you have difficulty reading or understanding English we would refer you to the accredited interpreters or translators. We can also make referrals to the English Tutors (some provide complimentary or low cost services).
