Russian National Day

In June each year, the Russian Ethnic Representative Council formally celebrates Russian National Day, honouring the formation of the Russian Federation in 1992. Dignitaries from Russian and Australian governments, leaders of the Russian community, artists and cultural figures are all invited to a formal reception.

Traditional Russian food is served while the invitees are invited to experience performances by local Russian talent. We showcase quality up-and-coming talent. Toasts are exchanged between Russia and Australia, while best-wishes are extended to the Russian community for its contribution to multicultural Victoria and the future of Russian-Australian friendship.

Leaders are honoured for by the presentation of certificates for community service. The occasion also presents an opportunity for community leaders to network, and look to the health and vitality of the Russian community in the future.
