In-home aged care currently consists of several programs that have different approaches to assessment, eligibility, service providers, funding and fees. As a result, not everyone receives care commensurate with their needs and funding is not always used effectively across the aged care system and for individual consumers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Australian Government has developed the reform to home care that is expected to consolidate a number of existing programs under a single assessment and funding model. Government declared its commitment to establish a new Support at Home Program in consultation with senior Australians and community stakeholders.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Support at Home will start in July 2025 and replace the following existing programs:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)<\/li>\n
  2. Home Care Packages (HCP) Program<\/li>\n
  3. Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) Program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    This is in line with the Royal Commission in Aged Care Quality and Safety\u2019s recommendations to implement a new aged care program and introduce a new funding model for care at home. The new program aims to reform all aspects of the delivery of in-home aged care including assessment, reablement and restorative care, to individualised support plans, clarity on service inclusions, funding of providers, and regulation of the market.<\/p>\n

    Government assures providers and consumers that no one will lose any in-home aged care services they currently have in place through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or the Home Care Packages\u00a0(HCP) Program.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
