Each year, with the help of RERC, the Russian community in Victoria organises a commemorative picnic to celebrate Victory Day: the date when Allied Forces overcame all odds to secure victory in the Second World War. Each year, in May, Russians, their families and friends, all come together and join veterans in Caulfield Park for a unique commemorative event. The Victory Day celebration is a unique opportunity for Russian veterans to share their history with families and friends, the Russian community, and others more. Few occasions have more meaning for Russians than the memory of the sacrifices during the Second World War. It is a solemn day of remembrance for the fallen, but a worthy commemoration of their sacrifices and great accomplishment.
