About the Organisation:

 

 

The Russian Ethnic Representative Council of Victoria (RERC/Russian Aged Care) is a leading
charity and community organisation founded in 1984 to represent the interests of Russian-speaking
individuals in Victoria.
RERC provides a wide range of community services funded by state and federal governments,
including programs that support elders, individuals with disabilities, and disadvantaged people from
CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) backgrounds. These include the CHSP program,
Community Visitors Scheme, brokerage services in aged care, CALD initiatives, and various
community awareness projects.
As an umbrella organisation, RERC also fosters cultural initiatives and community events through
partnerships with other community organisations.

 

 

About the Role:

 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Development Officer to join our team. This
role is ideal for someone with a positive and engaging personality who enjoys making a meaningful
difference in the lives of others.
The primary responsibility of the Community Development Officer is to manage grant applications and
oversee their administration.

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

 

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with grant applications and an understanding of grant administration principles
    (desirable).
  • A strong customer service focus and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive
    relationships within a team and with diverse stakeholders.
  •  A community-focused mindset with empathy for the needs of target groups.
    Intermediate computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
    Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in Russian and knowledge of Russian culture.
