Centre Based Respite

The primary goal of the Centre Based Respite Program is to help a relative, neighbour or any other carer to cope with stress and emotional burnout providing a short break of 5-6 hours once a week, as well as filling the senior clients communication deficiency.

The Centre Based Respite Program gives carers a break to take care of their own health and wellbeing, with the comfort of knowing RERC is supporting their dependents. During the program, senior citizens over the age of 65 years old will be able to feel inspired with life again, enjoy their surroundings with people with the same interests and feel young once again.

After you have been assessed by My Aged Care and have chosen Russian Ethnic Council of Victoria (RERC/Russian Aged Care) as your provider our  Russian-speaking Client Services Coordinator will be in touch to arrange a home visit. During this home visit, you can tell us what help around the house you need, and your preferences on time and career.

How much does it cost?

If you are eligible for the  Commonwealth Home Support Program, most of the cost will be covered by the government. However, you will be asked to make a small weekly fee. Our client manager will discuss the cost of the service with you during an initial consultation.
