Domestic Assistance

RERC/Russian Aged Care provides Domestic Assistance service to support eldery residents with household chores helping to live independently and safely at home.

The older we get, the more house cleaning may become physically demanding and work around the house can even pose a danger for falls and injuries.  Our cleaning services for seniors are tailored to help you to keep your house in order and to make day to day life more enjoyable.

Our Russian-speaking care workers will provide home care support and  help you to keep your house cozy, tidy and clean, so that you can live independently at home with comfort and ease.

We believe that a clean and tidy home can make a big difference to your health, wellbeing, safety and comfort.

What can I get help with?

General house cleaning (just some of the services we offer): 

• • sweeping and mopping floors
  • dusting furniture and vacuuming
  • washing dishes and wiping benches, fridge and appliances
  • cleaning bathrooms and toilets
  • laundry (hanging our/ bringing in) or ironing
  • changing sheets and remaking the bed
  • sweeping the front porch or back patio area

Food and Shopping:

• • unaccompanied shopping
  • occasional help with meal preparation
  • help with paying bills

We also offer Spring and Autumn cleaning services, just call us in advance to arrange these extra services for you.

How do I get this support?

To receive government-funded service you will need to have a referral from My Aged Care.

After you have been assessed by My Aged Care and have chosen Russian Ethnic Council of Victoria (RERC/Russian Aged Care) as your provider our Russian-speaking Client Services Coordinator will be in touch to arrange a home visit. During this home visit, you can tell us what help around the house you need, and your preferences on time and carer.

How much does it cost?

If you are eligible for Commonwealth Home Support Program most of the cost will be covered by the government. However, you will be asked to make a small contribution.

Our client manager will discuss the cost of the service with you during an initial consultation.

The delivery of the service

Depending on how much help you require, you can receive domestic assistance on a daily, weekly or fortnightly basis.
