The role of the Management Committee is to:

• Provide general direction to the organisation in consultation with the Russian community in Victoria, RERC members, funders, other community groups and organisations
• Ensure the RERC’s purpose is clear and organisation has a strategy to carry out the organisation’s purpose
• Ensure RERC has an effective risk management framework that is periodically reviewed
• Monitor and evaluate organisational performance against the strategy
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contractual requirements and appropriate reporting process to organisational stakeholders
• Engage stakeholders to advocate on behalf of the organisation, raise and maintain organisational profile, develop RERC community networks and fundraise
• Promote Russian culture and support member organisations
• Shape a desired organisational culture that aligns with RERC purpose and strategy
• Provide support, commitment and encouragement to staff and volunteers.

The Management Committee has 82 combined years of volunteering in their current role.

Our Committee Members also worked as volunteers in 15 other community organisations, ensuring understanding of community needs and providing close contact with member organisations.

The Management Committee has a wide range of experience and qualifications which form collective wisdom to lead the organisation.  Combined list of qualifications includes master’s degrees in project management, political science, marketing, accounting as well as qualifications in engineering, education, economics, sociology, teaching, building and constructions. Qualifications are obtained both in Australia and overseas. The overseas qualifications are recognised in Australia and supported by local experience.
