We specialise in providing person-centred home care services to elderly people with Russian, Slavic and other Eastern European backgrounds to enable them to continue living safely and independently in their own home. Our care is customised to suit your individual needs and our professional staff will help you understand your options and reassess them if your care needs will change.
We provide the following services under Support at Home (SaH) service categories:
Nursing services e.g. regular clinical assessments and clinical care reviews, wound care, identifying and addressing clinical risks, e.g weight loss, pain, medication administration, nursing care consumables, continence aids
Allied health services: physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, podiatry, psychology, speech pathology (provided by third-party approved partners)
Nutrition and dietetics: services of a nutritionist to determine a safe diet; specialized dietary supplements
Care management: managing your care and coordinating support arrangements
Personal care: showering, grooming and dressing, continence care, help with mobility and exercises, assistance with dining/ feeding
Therapeutic services: acupuncture, remedial massage, chiropractic, osteopathy and other therapies (provided by third-party approved partners)
Social support and community engagement: individual social support/ companionship and community group activities
Respite care: day/overnight flexible in-home respite and community/centre-based respite to assist client carers and family members to have a break from their care responsibilities
Transportation to get you out and about: doctor’s appointments / social events / church, grocery shopping, outings to the theatre and similar, take walks, visit the park. This service is frequently bundled with individual social support services.
Assistive technology: equipment or products that help you to do things more easily or complete activities you can no longer do independently, e.g. walking stick, walking frame, wheelchair, electrical bed, shower chair and similar.
Home modifications: provide changes to your home environment related to your support and health needs to make it safer and more accessible, as recommended by occupational therapist
Domestic Assistance: cleaning, linen and laundry services (wash and put away clothes, iron clothes), shopping assistance
Meals and nutrition: meal preparation, delivered meals from approved ethno-specific meal providers
Essential light gardening: lawn mowing, pruning and other essential services (provided by third-party partners, excludes professional gardening services such as landscaping)
Essential minor home maintenance and repairs
Your individual care plan will be designed to address your individual needs, preferences, health and other priorities, and maximise value you will get out of your package, within boundaries of your Support at Home budget and scope of SaH program. Our professional and friendly Care Advisor (also known as Care Partner) will assist you in managing your package including initial and ongoing assessments of your needs, preparation and management of your SaH budget, referrals to specialised services (e.g. nursing or allied health services), education and advocacy support around navigating aged care system.
(Please note, at this stage Russian Aged Care is not able to offer services to consumers who choose to self-manage their Support at Home package.)
